Fall 2019 - 15 weeks

In my Graphical User Interface class, we spent the entire semester focusing on user research and building a wellness app for a specific audience. I chose to make an exercise app targeted toward beginner to intermediate level users. My flows are centered on providing productive and encouraging feedback to keep the user from getting discouraged and quitting. In addition to that, I made it my personal goal to use a “wild” color palette, which wouldn’t usually be in my comfort zone.

If you’d like to see all fifteen weeks worth of work check it out below!

the problem

Inexperienced gym patrons are often overwhelmed by the mere concept of working out. Getting in shape seems like too broad of a goal to even attempt, so many people get discouraged or just never start.

meet the regular

The Regular is more experienced in working out, but still may feel intimidated in the gym. While they might be further in their fitness journey, The Regular is feeling lost because they don’t feel like they’ve made any progress. They want to be reassured of their progress and energized to move forward.

how might we…

Encourage the user that they are making progress and motivate them to continue forward
